Doesn’t look like the color on the screen
But it’s still an amazing red shade (I thought it was pink)
This is my first time ordering the hot pots from CS, and boy do I love them! I ordered 12 hot pots and 3 blush pots to start building a custom palette (21 shadows and 5 blushes). I just received my hot pots and I love this color, one of my favorites out of the bunch I ordered. Based on other reviews and looking at swatches online I wasn't expecting "maroon"...this is not maroon. This is a bold satin dark hot pink to me. For my first set of hot pots I ordered some natural browns, shimmery gold, reds/pinks. I have very pale skin with cool undertones, green eyes, dark blonde hair. Vibrant Maroon, Pomegranate Red and Feisty Fuchsia are my 3 favorite colors out of the 12. Totally fun colors that make my green eyes pop!
Could use improvements
The color is definitely not "maroon" to me at all, it's just a medium-dark red. Sounds the same but when you see it, it's quite red and lack that tiny bit of brown that real maroon has. I do like this finish though, a nice satin/semi-matte. This particular hot pot isn't as pigmented as the others but it does layer well and blends out nicely
Which one of these things is not like the others? This one.
First of all let me say that i DO like this hot pot. It's a lovely color, it's good quality, and it's definitely going into my regular palette rotation. With that said, I just don't think this color goes with all the other "vibrant" hot pots. All the other vibrants are matte finish and this is .... not. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's shimmery, but it certainly isn't matte. Satin perhaps? Anyhow, if you have any of the other vibrant hot pots and are thinking you need to add this to your collection, just be aware that it isn't quite the same as the others, but still a nice product.
